Arable crops are brave at this altitude, and one disadvantage is occasional steep, rocky eminences while another is the occurrence of large, glacially-derived erratic boulders in the tilled field. These are piled where they are no longer a problem, which is good if you are a geologist. In the distance is the farm of Brynffordd, sheltering behind another rocky knoll.
