After the catastrophic floods that ravaged the centre of Ballater in 2015, HRH Prince Charles (Duke of Rothesay) has contributed to resurrecting the town's visitor attraction by sponsoring a new restaurant-cum-shop. On the day of my visit the Highgrove Shop was already open for business, with the Rothesay Rooms restaurant set to open its doors the following day.
