Centenary Wood has an interesting story, the three and a half acre site was originally a chalk pit, when that finished it became the local refuse tip, in the 1970's it was bought by the Parish Council, landscaped and trees planted and through much hard work by the parish council and local people aided by various grants it is now a very pleasant nature walk with seating and information boards.
