The statue of Elizabeth Crichton and was unveiled by Prince Charles, the Duke of Rothesay on the 19 May 2000. In the background Easterbrook Hall was completed in 1938 and stands in Crichton Park which used to be the site of a mental hospital. Today the site is home to a business park and is a university campus for two Universities and a College, an extension of Paisley University, Crichton College of the University of Glasgow, and a section of Bell College, Hamilton.
