Almondell Bridge

The ornate bridge over the River Almond is also known as Nasmyth Bridge and the design is attributed to the painter Alexander Nasmyth. It was built in about 1800, and collapsed in 1973. However it was complelety rebuilt in 1997 with the support of the Heritage Lottery Fund. Unfortunately it was in deep shade today but others have photographed it in better light.
