Located near the Raven Hotel, the sculpture was created by John McKenna A.R.B.S. The plaque dated October 1998 on the base of the sculpture shows "This sculpture illustrates a family of salt works producing salt. The father is drawing the salt from a brine boiling trough and scooping it into a wooden tub used for draining the brine to form a salt lump."
