For the Remembrance Day of November 2016, the amazing knitters of Thirsk and district knitted thousands of poppies which stretched from St Mary's Church in Thirsk to St Oswald's in nearby Sowerby. Here can be seen the churchyard wall in Sowerby with the poppies attached to what appears to be camouflage netting.
