View of the inner courtyard of Falmer House, an award winning design by architect Sir Basil Spence. The building is designed as a gateway into the university and currently houses the Student Union and its services. The original moat was much deeper but was partially filled in during the 1990s when the authorities decided that a nearby student bar and a 5 foot drop onto concrete resulted in too many accidents.
