The roundabout at the northern end of Battle High Street with the Old Court House on the left and the 2016 memorial statue in the centre of the roundabout. The Old Court House is now a 'managed work space' and the memorial statue, inaugurated on 11 November 2016, is a construction commemorating the Battle of Hastings by Kent-based sculptor Guy Portelli. It depicts a Norman soldier on horseback and an Anglo-Saxon on foot reflecting the Battle of Hastings which was fought some 700 metres to the south in 1066.
