We stand in the Bournemouth Gardens, under the viaduct of the main Wessex Way, town-centre by-pass, looking out to Branksome Wood Road, which becomes Bourne Avenue heading into town to the right. The properties in front of us are numbers 1a (left) and 1b (right) with a driveway between them leading to 1c. The next property off to the left is number 1, perhaps suggesting that these blocks were infill around the time that the by-pass was built in the early 1970s. The even numbers do exist; they start a little further up where the road diverges from the edge of the Gardens.
