Dry valley near Brim Bray Pond

There is a streamless valley here which cuts across the landscape between the valleys of two of the River Skell's feeder becks near Eavestone. The valley owes its form to erosion by glacial meltwaters rushing around the western margins of a decaying Vale of York glacier some 15-17 thousand years ago. There are several such valleys in the area [see SE2268 for further details].
