The lychgate, at the entrance to All Saints churchyard, was erected in 1925 by public subscription in memory of Julia Philadelphia Eyre (died 29 April 1923), the wife of architect E.R.B. Hall-Watt. The oak used in its construction was grown within the village and the work undertaken by the estate joiners. A memorial tablet is embedded within the interior wall of the lychgate.
