At the junction with Reform Street, The Albion public house, Nos.19-20 Caroline Street. Opened circa 1851, initially as a beerhouse. A detailed history may be read here: http://www.rbarnard.karoo.net/Albion.pdf The exterior of the pub has been repainted in an electric shade of pink, re-opening this Summer as a gay-friendly venue. It is reported that the new colour scheme will be complemented by rainbow colours later this year.
