This postbox has been installed outside the public office of Image It is of a new type, manufactured of stainless steel by Romec, rather than the traditional cast iron boxes. It was installed at the end of June 2016 and I was told by a postman, when collecting a parcel, that the originally installed box lasted 6 days before it was driven into. (It is at the edge of the delivery yard/car park, so there will naturally be quite a bit of manoeuvring going on hereabouts.) Presumably that is why this box has been embellished with three strips of fluorescent tape - but the obvious question remains: why didn't they just install it against the wall?
