The numbered bridge is an indication that this is still the Coventry Canal; after bridge 78 it becomes the Birmingham & Fazeley and the bridges are identified only by names. The Coventry Canal bridge numbering sequence recommences at Fazeley Junction with bridge 77. Bridge 79 used to provide access to the Swan Inn which sadly closed for ever in 2010 and was demolished a year later.
