Longford is an attractive old coaching village on the Bath Road, just to the north-west of Heathrow - see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Longford,_London for a much fuller description. Peggy Bedford Park is a small park at the eastern end of the village following the Duke of Northumberland's River. It is a 'Biodiversity site' provided by Heathrow Airport. This view looks towards the entrance on Bath Road. If the third runway at Heathrow is built, as announced by the Government on 25th October 2016, every building in Longford will be demolished. It is a sobering thought that this photograph would become only a record of what once was.
