Poulton-le-Fylde War Memorial Image was originally erected in Queens Square in 1921. When the one-way traffic system was proposed the memorial was moved on 1st August 1979 to its present location in Market Place. The dedication plaque reads: LOVE'S STRENGTH STANDETH IN LOVE'S SACRIFICE TO THE GLORIOVS MEMORY OF THE MEN OF POVLTON LE FYLDE WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-19 "LIVE THOV FOR ENGLAND - WE FOR ENGLAND DIED"
