One of two gatekeeper's lodges to Wassand Hall, a regency house southeast of Seaton which was built in 1815 by Thomas Cundy the Elder as a family home for the Strickland-Constables. Victoria County History http://www.british-history.ac.uk/report.aspx?compid=16160 has the East Lodge being built in 1830, although according to the tenants there is a date stone inside saying 1846.
