120 degree panoramic view, from footpath. This substation takes 132 KV power via two underground cables from Fawley. It passes this on via overhead lines to Lepe (see Image ) whence it goes under the sea to Gurnard on the Isle of Wight and thence to the Wootton Common substation there. This substation also transforms the 132 KV down to 33 KV for use at Image and also locally for powering Langley and surrounding area. Quite large parts of this substation are obsolete, because there used to be a second line of pylons going to Lepe (from the lefthand side of the substation) which has now been removed.
