It may only be an ordinary field, but it has historic connections as it was from here that Denys Corbett Wilson made the first flight from Great Britain to Ireland on 22nd April 1912, the flight taking 100 minutes before he landed rather badly in an Irish field, breaking his propeller. The sloping field affords a view across to Fishguard town.
