I don't know the age of this pub but in 1857 the New Inn on Mossley Road was where jurors met following a disaster at the nearby Heys Colliery http://www.pittdixon.go-plus.net/heys-colliery-disasters/heys-colliery-disasters.htm At one point it was owned by Wilson's Brewery. Image
