This is a puzzle. The lane is not shown on maps, but presumably follows a field boundary that is shown, although the latter is fairly straight whereas the track has curves. Old maps, eg the 1:2500 map of 1892, show a footpath (captioned 'FP') from Thorp, which is where the sheds are, to Morley Hall Lane. Between from the length past the sheds and a short length off Morley Hall Lane the path did not become a right-of-way. The satellite image shows that the track leads to a field on top of the hill.
