A description of the vanished house, which Cherry & Pevsner call "Devon's most tragic loss since the last war". See also Image The 1952 edition of Pevsner, the "North Devon" volume, extols the plaster ceiling in the North wing - "as good as any work anywhere in Britain", and there was an "equally splendid" fireplace. Another unusual feature: sash windows dating from the 1680s.
