Viewed across the B4234 in March 2016. The notice on the telecoms cabinet is for Fastershire. Their website states that Fastershire is a partnership between Herefordshire Council, Gloucestershire County Council and BT to build a futureproof worldclass broadband network for the two counties. Fastershire is rolling out a pioneering, multimillion pound network that will deliver faster broadband speeds to homes and businesses across Gloucestershire by the end of 2015 and Herefordshire by the end of 2016. By the end of 2016, around 90% of both counties will have access to fibre broadband services. The ultimate aim is that by 2018 there will be access to broadband speeds of 24Mbps and above for all who need it. The project will also benefit homes and businesses in the two counties which currently receive downstream speeds of less than 2Mbps. Fastershire will make sure all premises in the project area are able to receive a minimum of 2Mbps. Fastershire is not just about technology. The project also includes social and digital inclusion activities, and an extensive Business Support programme, designed to help small and medium size businesses get the most from fibre broadband and be more competitive. It is expected that Fastershire will help to boost the local economy by £420 million over the next ten years. Fastershire will revolutionise the way that people of all ages across Herefordshire and Gloucestershire work, learn and play, and will benefit generations to come.
