Former cotton mill, the best of the city's survivors. By F.W. Dixon, 1905-06. Fireproof construction - concrete, steel and cast iron. The tremendous chimney has its own listing. Grade II listed. Its future seems reasonably certain since conversion into a call centre for Carphone Warehouse, its present occupants perhaps the less-unionised C21st equivalents of their C19th forebears.
