This remarkably unlovely structure is the former HM Revenue & Customs building, known locally just as the "Tax Office" which was finally closed completely in 2015 after a long run-down. The Conway Road frontage included a Job Centre and ground-floor retail space, some of which was utilised by Coleg Llandrillo as its "Bay Learning Centre" annexe. The entire site has been purchased for redevelopment by Conwy County Borough Council as its new office accommodation, replacing facilities at Rhos on Sea (see Image) and the Civic Centre (see Image) among others. Work should have been more advanced at the time of the images.
