Also known as St Lawrence Whitchurch. This ancient parish church houses a monument to the Duke of Chandos, whose enormous house at Cannons briefly dominated the area (it was finished in 1724 and demolished in 1747 when family debts made it impossible to maintain) and gives the modern area Canons Park its name.
