Commemorating the loss of Lt William Farquhar who was lost off Shantung (China) on 4th November 1864, when HMS Racehorse (RN Gunboat launched March 1860) was wrecked there. The gauges were donated by his kinsman James Farquhar of Hallgreen (Inverbervie) in 1906.
