Aboyne and Braemar Railway

Crossing the now wooded Muir of Dinnet. The railway was intended to run as far as Braemar, but terminated in Ballater. The story goes that Queen Victoria did not like the idea of a railway passing Balmoral, but I suspect financial good sense was behind the decision. The line closed in July 1966.
