Opened in 1876 by the Cornwall Minerals Railway, later part of the Great Western Railway, on the line from Par to Newquay. View south east towards Luxulyan and Par. The original track was to the right of the platform. In 1930, a passing loop was installed and the current platform face opened, meaning for a number of years it was an island platform. The original track to the right was removed in 1989.
