Derelict cottages

These cottages are on the A530, Whitchurch Road, Newhall, near Nantwich. The Left hand cottage was called "The Flower Patch" and the Right hand cottage was "East View". I have been told by locals that East View has been empty for about 25 years. The Flower Patch has been empty since about 2012 after a chimney fire made it uninhabitable. Flower Patch was vandalised within a few weeks of its owners having to move out. Originally these cottages were part timber framed with a thatched roof. The corrugated iron roof has been fitted over the thatch. There are signs of the original wattle & daub construction. The Flower Patch has a cellar under its Left hand living room only
