Former School, Jolesfield, Jolesfield Common

Opened in 1873 as a National School it later became Jolesfield Church of England Primary School until 1970 when it moved to new premises in Partridge Green, see Image, after a glut of house building in the later meant numbers had outgrown this site. The school was still used by juniors throughout the 1970s and finally closed for good at the end of the decade. Since then it has been converted into three dwellings, Teachers House on the right, School House on the left and Middle House, not surprisingly, between the two. Viewed from the rear on a public bridleway.
