Hydrogen gas is generated in electrolytic cells at Kittybrewster Depot and an on-board fuel cell powers the bus, which is (almost) pollution free and silent. One charge is enough to power the bus on all its daily services. Aberdeen is a world leader in developing this technology: http://www.aberdeencity.gov.uk/council_government/shaping_aberdeen/Shaping_Aberdeen_Hyrdogen_Bus.asp .
