View SE from the convenient 'Train-Watching site' above the lines coming from the Birmingham direction through the Rainbow Hill Tunnel - off to the left. Opposite are the ex-GWR Worcester Locomotive and Wagon Works, outside which are three ex-GWR AEC Diesel rail-cars, Nos. W24w, W26w and W32w, recently (10/62) withdrawn. The middle tracks, in front of the running-lines to Shrub Hill station are sidings of the Worcester Locomotive Depot: LMSR (ex-Midland) locomotives were serviced here, but not allocated: prominent is Stanier 'Black Five' No. 45006 (built 1934, withdrawn 9/67). The GW Pannier tank is 16XX No.1661, one of the short-lived post-Nationalisation batch, built 3/55 and withdrawn 7/64; it is fitted with a spark-arrestor, for working on Worcester's Factory branch.
