RE:NEW is the name of the project transforming Chester’s 1936 Odeon building into the brand new world-class cultural centre ‘Storyhouse’. Chester’s Odeon building is Grade II Listed and has been empty and deteriorating since 2007. The RE:NEW project is converting and extending the existing building to house two flexible theatre spaces, boutique independent cinema, a 21st century library and destination cafe bars. Due to be completed at the end of 2016, the building will be run and programmed by Storyhouse a combined arts producer, based in Chester. Their work includes the nationally acclaimed Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre company, the Chester Music Festival and the Chester Literature Festival. Link; http://www.renewchester.co.uk/
