This was the second Methodist church to be built in the Edenderry area of Portadown. The former was built about 1869 near the present Eden Avenue, off the Carrickblacker Road. This new church was built on land, acquired at the foot of Killicomaine Road, known as Quarry's Corner. It was opened for worship on Thursday 19th February 1891 and known as "Edenderry Memorial". It continued to be used for the next sixtythree years until the new church opened on 4th September 1954. At this time it became known as "Edenderry Memorial Church Hall.
