Seen from a path, these are part of the Stage One investigative works, under the Heritage Lottery Grants for Places of Worship Scheme, which were carried out during the first few months of 2015. They identified substantial damage, particularly to the Flèche and South-west Transept and the works necessary to remedy them, especially to the Flèche but also to the Belcote and windows. The costs involved in delivering these works were, however, considerably above anything that had been expected and amounted to £100,000 more than the grant allocated by the Heritage Lottery Fund. As a result, we have had to restrict the current works to meet our budget and will be carrying out only the most urgent repairs during the Delivery Phase of the works, this being the work to the Flèche and to the South West Transept window. The remaining work to the Belcote and other windows, will now form the basis of a further works project for which other funding will be required http://stpetersfolk.church/restorations/ This view shows the repairs being carried out to the flèche (spire) and southwest transept window.
