The water tower is not the original one on the site, it was installed in 1991 to service steam specials (Visit Cumbria http://www.visitcumbria.com/carlset/appleby-station/ ). The wagon is an I.C.I. salt van built in 1941 (More information at Vintage Carriage Trust http://www.ws.vintagecarriagestrust.org/ws/WagonInfo.asp?Ref=7518 ).
