From humble beginnings in the 19th Century as the Edinburgh School of Cookery, and after amalgamation over the years with a number of other specialist colleges, Queen Margaret University obtained its charter in 2007. At about the same time, it moved into purpose-built accommodation on the outskirts of Musselburgh.
