Part of the former quarry in Parc Natur Penglais, an 11 hectare nature reserve consisting of this quarry area, last worked in the 1800s, and an area of woodland. It was created out of part of the former Penglais Estate and was designated a Local Nature Reserve in 1995. In the background is part of Aberystwyth itself with Pendinas behind.
