The grasses in silt ridden swash backwash zones are in some bays recurring, this may be hydraulic and provision of silt on a change in beach balance, Portishead has altered but the land species still dominate and erosion is rapid, this bay fills and the grasses sway in the waves as silt is protected common 1963, along Severn south, less so until 2016 again colonizing
