The Grand Hotel in Italianate Renaissance style was built in 1869. Interestingly the ground floor was originally shops and entrance to the hotel was via a flight of steps. Listed, grade II, with details at:https://www.historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1202023 The church beyond is Christ Church.
