Remarkably the exchange is housed in the wooden structure to the right whilst the brick building on the left appears to be a lavatory block! This type of building was GPO standard for small exchanges in rural areas - see Image for another example. The staff facilities at Wootton are however situated in the small wooden hut in front of the exchange.
