The text on the notice is in English and Welsh. The English text is "Important Notice. Certain trains pass through this station at speed. Please keep away from the platform edge." All scheduled passenger trains on the Vale of Glamorgan Line stop here. Certain types of open-sided freight trains which pass through the station without stopping can create severe air turbulence even at relatively low speeds. On a few occasions, a closure of part of the South Wales Main Line results in the Vale of Glamorgan Line being used. On these occasions, diverted trains do not usually stop here.
