Radcliffe Civic Suite on Thomas Street, which could cater for up to 400 people and was used to host community events, shows and weddings, was opened by the then-Prime Minister Harold Wilson in March 1974. Its closure was announced during the latter half of 2015. It closed in April 2016; demolition work began in June and was completed by early July with the site designated for housing development (http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/radcliffe-civic-suite-bury-set-10258622 Manchester Evening News). http://www.geograph.org.uk/snippet/15383 Shows photos of the site before, during and after the demolition
