Looking from Crutched Friars. The pub or 'Clubbe' is now four apartments for 'Corporate boutique living', whatever that means, apart from expensive. The two signs on the near arch are directions to stations. Top is a British Rail sign to 'Fenchurch St. Crosswall entrance'. The bottom is an initially perplexing London Transport sign to Tower Hill station. It directs to the north side of the Fenchurch Street bridge when the station is to the south - 'Second turning on the right under the bridge'. When you work it out, this would return you via another bridge to the south side, heading in the right direction along Coopers Row.
