This site formed part of RAF Downham Market, which was an active airfield during WW2. It housed the men employed by William Press, the contractor who installed the aerodrome's fog dispersal (FIDO) system. According to the airfield site plan, the buildings were Laing huts and the site was disused by 1944, as by then the FIDO installation had been completed. Depicted here is the only building still standing on the site.
