This is a typical hill farm. The road to the right of this picture runs across the common land which the cattle are grazing on. It is unfenced so motorists have to drive extra cautiously. At either end of the common there are cattle-grids to stop the sheep, cows and horses from leaving the common. Houses are often found in hollows or against the sides of hills for shelter.
