The Public rooms opened in 1838 and contained a wool market, a county court and a concert room. On 19th April 1839 a Chartist rally was held here. The Siop yr Oen [Lamb shop] opened here in 1883. In 1976 a Laura Ashley shop opened here too [since closed]. This is a Grade 2 listed building.
