St Mary's Church at Eastling was "grossly over-restored" according to John Newman in Pevsner's Buildings of England: North-East and East Kent. He also refers to the "Colossally aged yew tree by the west porch". See http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5027089 for a close up. The west doorway is Norman.
